Optimized Water Flow: Water enters the sump into a dedicated intake section before passing through Section 1, where the interchangeable plate provides the choice between mechanical filtration using filter socks or a foam block. A lid minimizes splashing, and water exits from the bottom into Section 2, the skimmer chamber. From there, water moves through the signature Trigger cutout into Section 3, the refugium. Finally, it flows through perforated platforms, under the last baffle, and into Section 4—the return pump chamber—before circulating back into the aquarium.

Filtration Flexibility: Each Sapphire sump includes two interchangeable plates:

• A filter sock plate for 100-micron mechanical filtration

• A foam block plate with a perforated design and included sponge block for filtration when socks aren’t in use

Adjustable Water Level: With an adjustable water height range from 7” to 9.5”, the Sapphire series accommodates a variety of protein skimmers, ensuring optimal performance.

Self-Adjusting Foam Block Platform: As the sump’s water level is adjusted, the foam block platform moves automatically to maintain ideal positioning, ensuring consistent mechanical filtration.

Integrated Probe Holder: Every Sapphire sump includes a probe holder capable of securing up to four probes, with different-sized openings to accommodate various monitoring equipment.
